Lesbians are a seemingly invisible section of society. The exclusion of same sex partners from all of the benefits afforded to opposite sex couples only promotes the view that individuals in same sex relationships generally are less worthy of recognition and protection. It implies that Lesbians are less capable of forming intimate relationships and contributes to the erasure of our existence.
